The Life of Riley

A veterinarian (and aunt of twelve) shares her story over the fourteen year lifespan of a beloved, family golden retriever named Riley. She takes the reader along her journey of becoming inspired to be a veterinarian, applying to veterinary school, studying as a vet student, and actually being a vet.

Instead of painting a perfect picture of success and accomplishment, you get to know her imperfections and the struggles she experienced throughout the entire process.

This book was originally written by the author as a high school graduation gift for her nieces and nephews. She wanted each one of them to know that their initial steps into the real world may be riddled with tripping and falling but that is simply part of the growing process. Though each one will still be receiving this book from their loving aunt, the story seemed appropriate to share with other young adults.

Throughout the book, the author navigates many life lessons—most of which were learned the hard way and one which Riley knew and taught by example his entire life.
